Richard L. Douglas

Richard L. Douglas, 87, of Burlington, died Monday, January 26, 2026, at his home.

Born December 24, 1938, in Devalls-Bluff, AR, he was the son of Harold and Phoebe (Rodgers) Douglas. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Air Force, serving his country honorably from January 3, 1956 until August 17, 1959. On November 12, 1959, he married Martha Jo Beard in Boonesville, IN. She preceded him in death on October 21, 2025.

Survivors include two sons, Richard "Tony" A. Douglas of Ely, IA, Joseph E. Douglas of Burlington; three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

There will be no visitation or services.
