Richard Lindgren

Richard "Rick" Lindgren, 66, of Burlington, died at 5:50 AM Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, IA.

Born May 21, 1955, in North Vancouver, Canada, he was the son of Kenneth Lindgren and June Lindgren-Howard. On August 2, 2003 he married Sally Pitts in their backyard in Burlington.

He was the Administrative Computer Consultant for Great Prairie AEA for 20 years until his retirement on June 30, 2021.

Richard was active in the Gold Wing Riders Group for many years. He and his wife Sally became certified storm watchers through Des Moines County Community Emergency Response Team and SKYWARN. He was a lover of music, passionate about cooking, and loved his family.

Survivors include his wife, Sally Lindgren of Burlington; mother, June Howard of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia; three children, Jake (Tania) Kennedy of Vancouver, Canada, Brandon Lindgren of Vancouver, Canada, and Elecia Lindgren of Stockholm, Sweden; three step-children Jennifer Ramin of Burlington, Meghan (Josh) Munford of Albia, IA, and Laura (Brennan) Williams of West Union, IA; and nine grandchildren, Antaeus, Calista, Keith, Blake, Chase, Samantha, Steven, Milla Mae, and Elaina and one sister Debbie Lindgren of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia.

He is preceded in death by his father, and his step-father, Keith Howard.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Lindgren will be 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Monday, September 13, 2021, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home. Per the wishes of the family, masks will be required.
