Richard Philip Zotz, 67, of West Burlington, died at 11:50 PM Saturday, April 4, 2015, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born September 26, 1947, in Burlington, he was the son of Philip Alvin and Patricia Ann Mosena Zotz.
Richard had worked at several restaurants including the Hotel Burlington and at Country Kitchen.
He was a graduate of Burlington High School.
He was a member of New Life Family Church. He loved his pets, 34 Raceway, watching Scooby Doo, the Three Stooges and all the old TV shows. He also loved fried chicken and chocolate milk.
Survivors include one sister, Ann Zotz of Burlington; one brother, Jeffrey (Barbara) Zotz of Burlington; four step-brothers, Jerry Wiegard of Burlington, Jim Wiegard of Burlington, Dennis Wiegard of New London, IA, Martin Wiegard of Burlington; one step-sister, Marilyn Burgus of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Michael and his nephew, Tyrone.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM Friday, April 10, 2015, at Thielen Funeral Home where the family will receive friends.
The funeral service for Mr. Zotz will be 10:00 AM Friday, April 10, 2015, at Thielen Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Dutzer officiating. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Thielen Funeral Home following the service. Cremation will be entrusted to the care of Thielen Crematory following the service. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for New Life Family Church and the Great River Hospice.
