Robert Wayne McCloskey

Robert W. McCloskey of Burlington, Iowa passed away peacefully on March 9, 2021.
He was born August 28, 1927 in Carbon Cliff, Illinois to Glenn and Lorena McCloskey. Robert (Bob) was one of 8 children and lived his childhood in Cuba, Illinois. Bob was a veteran of WW ll. 
He married Patricia (Pat) Schnarr on December 23, 1949 and they made their life home in Burlington, Iowa. Pat proceeded Bob in death after 71 years of marriage in 2020.
Bob was a member of Asbury Methodist Church and loved flea markets, road trips and pie with friends. Out of appreciation of the volunteer work he completed after retirement; Bob received the Governor’s Award.
Bob is survived by his five children, Debbie Totemeier, Gary (Cindy) McCloskey, Tom (Nancy) McCloskey, Janice (Mike) Ball, and Betsy McCloskey. He also greatly loved his 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. 
Full military honors will be rendered by the United States Army. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Funeral Service. The Graveside Committal Service will be 11:00 AM Friday, March 19, 2021, at Aspen Grove Cemetery.
