Robert Moser Obituary

Robert "Bob" Moser, 67, of Burlington, died Friday, August 2, 2024, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington. Bob's family would like to thank Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to him. Special thanks to Kenzie, Julie, Dawn, Judy & Janice.

Born October 26, 1956, in Burlington, he was the son of William Anthony and Eileen M. Bixenman Moser. In 1975, Bob started dating Lucia Anne Morrison and on September 11, 1982, they were married at St. Mary's Church in WestBurlington. 

Bob graduated from West Burlington High School in 1974. 

Bob worked for B.L. Robinson for 10 years. He then worked for 3E (Electrical Engineering and Equipment) for 20 years from which he retired. His most beloved job in his retirement was cleaning St. Mary's Church and parish center, where he was raised and attended school through 6th grade.

He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish-SS. Mary and Patrick Catholic Church, West Burlington, select member of the North Walker Community Center and the Optimist Club. Bob loved everything outdoors, including hunting, fishing and boating on the river. He enjoyed going to concerts and was a big supporter of local live music, especially blues music. Bob loved spending time with his family and was a wonderful "Bobbob" to his two grandsons, Trevin and Eastin.

Survivors include wife of 41 years, Lucia Anne Moser of Burlington; son, Jesse (Hillary Walters) Moser of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Shannon (Mitchell) Pforts of Mt. Union; two grandsons, Trevin & Eastin Pforts of Mt. Union; two granddogs, Gemma and Arthur; two brothers, Keith (Cindy) Moser of Burlington, William Anthony (Sandra) Moser, Jr. of Yuma, AZ; and two sisters, Patricia Crowner of Huxley, IA and Linda (Harlan) Schafer of Mulberry, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Kevin Moser, sister-in-law, Karla Moser and brother-in-law, Russell Crowner.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM with the family to receive friends following a 2:00 PM Rosary Service until 5:00 PM Friday, August 9, 2024, at  Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street. Following the Rosary, there will be a short time for family and friends to share memories of Bob. The family asks those attending the visitation to please wear a t-shirt that reminds them of Bob.

The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection for Mr. Moser will be 10:30 AM Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Divine Mercy Parish-SS. Mary and Patrick Catholic Church, West Burlington with Fr. Jake Greiner as the Celebrant.  A time of food and fellowship will be held at St. Mary's following the service. Burial will be in North Walker Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Divine Mercy Parish, Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House, Leopold Landscape Alliance and the North Walker Cemetery Association.
