Robert Osborn Obituary

Robert Lewis Osborn, 90, of Waterloo, died Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the Ravenwood Specialty Care in Waterloo.

Born December 5, 1934, in Brooklyn, Illinois, he was the son of Robert and Retha (Henry) Osborn. On June 14, 1964, he married Clara May Cook in Burlington, Iowa.  Sadly, Clara passed away November 27, 2024.

Robert spent his life serving his country.  He started his service in the United States Navy before serving several years with the United States Air Force and retiring.  In total he spent 21 years of his life in the military.

Robert was a reserved person who enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.  He enjoyed camping when he was younger.  Robert appreciated cars, whether driving or fixing them and spent a lot of time talking with Lee Putnam at his salvage yard.  Robert's quiet presence will be missed, but his memory will continue on through all who love him.

Survivors include his sons, Robert Earl Osborn of Roy, UT, and Roger Lee Osborn of Burlington, IA; siblings, Richard Osborn of Rome, TX, Ronald Osborn of Peoria, IL, Raymond Osborn of Eureka, IL.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara;  son, Kenneth Osborn; siblings, Retha Mae Palmer and Donald Lee; and parents, Robert and Retha.
