Obituary

Rodney D. Crowell, 71, of Burlington, died Saturday, January 21, 2023, at his sister's home in rural Oakville.

Born September 10, 1951, in Springfield, IL, he was the son of Marvin and Donna (Hoon) Crowell.

Rod was a graduate of Burlington High School. After graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps., and took great pride in serving his country.

He retired as a Lineman with Alliant Energy.

Rod enjoyed going to the races, river life, the ocean, and enjoyed having a few cocktails with friends.

Survivors include his son, Chason Crowell; sister, Sherry (Jim) Anderson of Oakville, IA; two brothers, Randy (Angie) Crowell and Jim (Yvonne) Crowell; and many nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, with inurnment to be held at Aspen Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.
