Ronald Dean Wheeler, 76, of Burlington, died at 12:15 PM Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at the Great River Klein Center.
Born June 18, 1944, in Burlington, he was the son of Floyd E. and Velma Edith Wright Wheeler.
He attended trade school at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, IA where he obtained his electrical technician certification.
Ronald was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War from July 7, 1965 until July 6, 1971.
He worked for General Electric until his retirement in 2001.
Ronald had a life-long interest in electronics and how they worked. He enjoyed bowling and liked to read and watch old Western movies, especially anything featuring John Wayne.
Survivors include his two sisters, Wanda Houston and Sue Ives, both of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews .
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Charles, Gene, Darwin, Myron, Jack, and Huey and six sisters, Donna Krieger, Joy Laue, Laura Marshall, Marilyn Wheeler, Gloria Wheeler, and Laviece Jackson .
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
There will be no service at this time.
