Rosemary Agnes Friedman

Rosemary Agnes Friedman, 91, of Burlington, died at 6:10 AM Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born August 22, 1930, at home in Hancock County, IL, she was the daughter of Lawrence G. and Rosa C. Thele Anderson. On July 24, 1951, she married Raymond L. Chevalier. They later divorced and he passed in 1999. On October 4, 1995, she married Warren W. Friedman in Burlington. He died on August 25, 1996.

She worked at Burlington Basket Factory for a time, and owned and operated Rosalee's Shoe Repair for many years.

She was of Catholic faith. She enjoyed gardening, watching birds, and taking care of her cats, her last one being Fluffy. She loved her family deeply, and always looked forward to birthday parties for the grandkids, and seeing everyone together.

Survivors include two sons, Charles (Dawn) Chevalier of Burlington, and Kenneth Chevalier of Cedar Rapids, IA; two daughters, Linda Snowden of Burlington, and Janet (Peter) Wernicke of Rapid City, SD; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret (Paxton) Lowery of Miami Beach, FL, Jane F. Crawford of Brighton, IA, and Carol Huber of Moline, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, David; one sister, Catherine; and three brothers, Paul, Leo and John.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

Visitation for Rosemary will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Friday, May 6, 2022 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.

The memorial service for Mrs. Friedman will be 11:00 AM Friday, May 6, 2022, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Fr. Dennis Hatungimana officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery following the service. To honor Rosemary, the family encourages anyone who wishes to wear vibrant flower colors.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Des Moines County Humane Society.
