Ross Steven Hartman

Ross Steven Hartman, 62, of Burlington, Iowa died at 10:23 AM on Monday, April 11, 2022 at his home surrounded by family.  

Born January 19, 1960, in Burlington, he was the son of Norman Gerald and Donna Marie Hartman. He married Sandra Lee Sommerfeld on May 21, 1983, at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), in Burlington. She passed away on February 20, 2013 after 29 years of marriage.

Ross was the Owner/President of Southeast Iowa Garage Door Specialists, in Burlington since 1987. He was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), in Burlington.  

He was an avid animal lover, and recently added “Caesar” to his family along with “Bailey”. He had a special knack on being able to figure out mechanical issues. His hobbies included, NASCAR racing, riding his bright red “trike”, a Harley Davidson, an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan and he was a member of CMA (Christian Motorcycle Association). He enjoyed the beach, spending time with his family, grandsons and friends.

Survivors include his two sons, Jacob (Taylor) Hartman of Windsor Heights and Brandon (Taylor) Hartman of Burlington; daughter, Megan Hartman of Burlington; and one sister, Beth (John) Bliven, St. Louis, MO; two grandchildren, Harrison and Holden Hartman; mother-in-law, Jane Sommerfeld of New London; brother-in-law, Jeff (Sharlene) Sommerfeld; sister-in-law, Patty Harris-Johnson of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews.  
 
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and father-in-law. 

As per request of Mr. Hartman, cremation has been accorded to Prugh Crematory.

Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Monday, April 18, 2022 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral.

A memorial service for Mr. Hartman will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, April 18, 2022 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Rev. David Yonker officiating. Inurnment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
  
In lieu of flowers,  memorials have been established for the Aicardi Syndrome Foundation and the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Burlington.
