Sharon Ann Lane

Sharon Ann Lane, 77, of Burlington, died at 5:07 AM Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington. 

Born February 25, 1944, in Des Moines, IA, she was the daughter of George William and Mary Jane Abrahama Evans. On March 8, 1975, she married John T. Lane in Reno, Nevada. He passed on April 13, 2005.

Sharon worked for GTE Sylvania as a technician wiring circuit boards.

Sharon was a very loving and giving person who was always doing what she could to help others. She enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching and knitting. Over the years, Sharon made and donated many blankets to the hospital and hats to the cancer center. While she worked on her projects, she liked to watch Hallmark movies. She also enjoyed cooking for family and friends, and always had plenty of leftovers to give away. Sharon especially enjoyed her time spent with her great-grandson, Gage. 

Survivors include her daughters, Robin Simpson of San Jose, CA and Debbie Haverfield of Winchester, IL; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and cousin, Jane Heimstra of Newton, IA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one brother, George William Evans. 

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

Her ashes will be laid to rest with her husband in the Pacific Ocean at a later date.
