Sherrida "Sherry" Corley Obituary

Sherrida "Sherry" Irene Corley, 71, of Burlington, died at 3:33 am Saturday, August 28, 2021, at the Arbor Court Retirement Home in Mount Pleasant.

Born November 28, 1949, in Putnam, CT, she was the daughter of Dale Brokaw and Judith Elaine Warth Corley. She married Joseph Earl Kuster with whom she had two daughters. They later divorced. She then married Philip Melvin Forrester with whom she had two daughters and one son. They later divorced.

She was a 1967 graduate of Burlington High School.

Most of her time was spent as a homemaker and mother, but she also worked as an Army Recruiter Secretary, the Clerk of Courts, the Deli for HyVee Foods, and at Walmart.

Sherry spent a good portion of her life as a navy-kid, spending a lot of time and making a lot of memories in Chicago, IL and Hawaii. She was a dedicated and supportive mother of all of her children, always taking time to play Ms. America Barbie, take the kids to the Arion Restaurant for birthday dinners, and making her signature dishes of Annis Cookies, lasagna, or spaghetti sauce to name a few. She was always there to help with Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts, and was very active in the BHS class of 1967, spending many years helping with class reunions. Sherry had a very unique sense of humor, and could always make you laugh. She was a huge fan of Danielle Steel, and a die-hard St. Louis Cardinals Fan. She loved to sew and crochet, and was the President of the Resident Council at Autumn Heights. Most of all she loved her family, and always enjoyed having lunch with her friends Pat and Joyce.

Survivors include five children, Tammy (David) Schmidt of Burlington, Stacie Kuster of West Burlington, IA, Jennifer (Matt) Levins of West Burlington, IA, Michael Forrester of Burlington, and Dana (Randy) Ackerson of Burlington; 10 grandchildren, David (Logan) Wall, Danielle Wall, Andrew Lunasco, Josiah Ruiz, Persephone Forrester, Hades Forrester, Tessa Piper, Bryan Piper, Olivia Lietch, and Kaylynn Leasure; two great-grandchildren, James Standard, Granger Wall; four siblings, Greg (Carol) Corley, Karen Corley, Daniel (Patty) Corley, Kathy (Terry) Strong; several nieces and nephews, and many four-legged grandchildren.
