Shirley M. Guzman, 87, of Burlington, died Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at her home in Burlington.
Born March 12, 1936, in Hale, MO, she was the daughter of Roy Thomas and Carletta M. Gumbo Septer. In June of 1978, she married Caracci in Muscatine, IA. He died July 15, 2013.
Shirley taught herself to play piano and organ. She loved animals and her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara (Jim) Talbott of Burlington; one granddaughter, Kelsey (Jeff) Talbott; three great grandchildren, Rayden, Aries, and Elyjah; one brother, George Septer of Salem and several nieces and nephews.
Beside her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Carla Watson and two brothers.
Visitation will be from noon until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.
A memorial has been established for PAW Animal Shelter in Ft. Madison.
