Shirley K. Pratt

Shirley Katherine Pratt, 75, of Burlington, died Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Home Health and Hospice of West Burlington.

Born October 30, 1949, in Burlington, IA, she was the daughter of Babe and Rita Watznauer Miller.

Shirley was a loving wife, mother and grandmother to so many.  She found great happiness in taking care of others and made sure that her home was always a warm and inviting place.  She enjoyed playing Bingo and Yahtzee with her friends.  She liked to pass the time doing puzzles.  She had a affinity for all things hummingbirds, and had several hundred throughout her home; so much so that she needed to put a second Christmas tree to display all her ornaments!  Shirley's kindness and love will be deeply missed by her family, but her memory will continue on through all who love her.

Shirley's family includes her son, Guy (Dawn) Pratt II, of Mediapolis; grandchildren, Guy Pratt III and Samantha Pratt; sisters, Marilyn Burns of Arizona, Patty Jones and Gena Fritz both of Iowa; nieces and nephew; Derek Jones, Danielle Schmitz, Jena Fritz and Rachel Fritz; sister-in-law, Ann Benson of Maryland; and good friend, Janis Miller of Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy; and parents, Babe and Rita.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM with the family to receive friends 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street, Burlington.

The funeral service for Mrs. Pratt will be 10:00 AM Friday, January 31, 2025, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street, Burlington, with Fr. Dominic Nguyen as the Celebrant.  Burial will follow the service at South Walker Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Shirley's memory are suggested to Home Health and Hospice of West Burlington.
