Stephen J Henning, 66, of West Burlington, died at 2:34 pm Saturday, May 15, 2021, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born January 7, 1955, in Iowa, he was the son of Alfred Charles and Dorothy Nolan Henning. On September 23, 2000, he married Audrey Nylin in Burlington.
He worked for Case Manufacturing for 30 years until his retirement.
He was a member of Bluff Harbor Boat Club, Shoquoquon Boat Club, Keokuk Yacht Club, American Motorcyclists Association, Harley Davidson Hog Club, Alabama Academy of Model Aeronautics, Burlington Bel Canto Chorale, as well as being a Catholic Altar Boy and gaining his Eagle Scout in 1971. Steve loved the Mississippi River and was an avid boater where he was always seen with his wife and a beer in his hand. He was also a motorcycle enthusiast that started when he got his first bike at 16. His love of travel included Costa Rica, Hawaii, Mexico, and Europe and he and his wife's annual trips to Orange Beach, AL. Steve was a very kind, fun loving man, who was known by many as quite the jokester. He knew no stranger, and had a laugh that could make anyone smile. He would always do anything he could for his wife. Most important to him was his love for his family and friends.
Survivors include wife, Audrey Henning of West Burlington; five step-children, Joyce Carter of St. Petersburg, FL; Kelly Seibert of Eldridge, IA; Gina (Jeff) Ishee of Littleton, CO; Todd (Sheri) Nylin of Keithsburg, IL; Darin (Dee) Nylin of Keithsburg, IL; eight step-grandkids; two step-great-greatgrandkids; two brothers, Larry Henning of Tiffin, IA, and David (Lori) Henning of Coralville, IA; one step-brother, Craig (Liz) Breese of Battle Ground, WA; two nieces, Halie and Megan Henning; and one nephew, Kayvon Jafarpour.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother Encel, and one brother, Thomas.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
A Celebration of Life for Steve will be Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the Shoquoquon Boat Club from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
