Suzanne L. Schoenewe

Suzanne L. Schoenewe, 70, of Burlington, died Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born July 23, 1953, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Emmert George and Louise Cecelia (Schrader) Schoenewe. 

Suzanne worked for Walmart for 17 years.

She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish-St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Suzanne loved shopping, listening to music, spending time outside and taking walks. She really enjoyed the Christmas season and loved watching Christmas shows, especially the Hallmark channel.  Suzanne enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include two brothers, Fred Schoenewe of West Burlington and George (Marsha) Schoenewe of Burlington; five sisters, Tina (John) Graham of Burlington, Pam (Mark) Stuecker of St. Paul, IA, Teresa Wagner of Burlington, Carolyn Hardesty of Burlington and Nanette Schoenewe of Fairfield; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Tom Schoenewe and sister-in-law, Sharon Schoenewe.

The funeral service for Ms. Schoenewe will be 11:00 AM Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street with Deacon Gary Johnson officiating.  Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.  A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Prugh Funeral Service following the burial.

A memorial has been established for the Oakview Nursing Home.
