Thomas E. Pratt , 85, of West Burlington, died at 4:08 PM Monday, May 7, 2018, at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington.
Born October 26, 1932, in Burlington, he was the son of William J. and Elsie Gillow Pratt. On September 1, 1973, he married Susan J. Weaver in Oquawka, IL.
Thomas was a pressman for Craftsman Press and New Era Printing for about 60 years.
He was a graduate of Burlington High School in 1950.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War from December 1, 1952 until November 1, 1954.
He was a member of Tallcorn Chapter of the Korean War and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed being outdoors camping, fishing and golfing. He loved his dogs and spending time with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.
Survivors include his wife, Susan J. Pratt of West Burlington; two sons, Thomas (Patty) Pratt of Moline, IL and Patrick (Yang Soon) Pratt of Honolulu, HI; two daughters, Ann (Greg) Spears of Oswego, IL and Sara (Craig) Harter of Park Ridge, IL; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and one brother, James (Carol) Pratt of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, William, and two sisters, Joyce and Doris.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, May 18, 2018 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The memorial service for Mr. Pratt will be 10:00 AM Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Dean Graber officiating. Full military honors will be rendered by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the Des Moines County Humane Society and the Klein Center Black Hawk Boulevard.
