Valeria Marie Szewczyk , 52, of Burlington, died Saturday, April 29, 2023, at her home.
Born April 3, 1971, in Aledo, IL, she was the daughter of Peggy Harmon. On May 4, 2013 she married Chad Szewczyk in Burlington.
She was a graduate of Aledo High School and attended Black Hawk College.
Valeria worked at Aledo Genesis Medical and then as an office manager for Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center.
She enjoyed singing and spending time with her grandchildren and fur babies.
Survivors include her husband, Chad Szewczyk of Burlington; daughter, Megan (Brent) Shearer of New Boston, IL and their children, Alyvia, Dylan, Ayden and Owen; son, Aaron (Jessica) Bigger of New Boston, IL and their child, Bentley; and daughter, Hannah Bigger of New Boston, IL; sister, Teresa (Montie) Schell of New Boston, IL; uncle Delmar Harmon; aunt Mary Brasmer and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, two aunts, Donna and Marge, one uncle, Bob, and her mother-in-law, Shirley McDonald.
Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Monday, May 8, 2023 at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.
The funeral service for Mrs. Szewczyk will be 11:00 AM Monday, May 8, 2023, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street. A time of food and fellowship will be held at the United Methodist Church in New Boston, IL following the service.
A memorial has been established.
