Alexander Earl Spiker, 48, of West Burlington, died Monday, November 27, 2023, at his home.

Born August 13, 1975, in Monmouth, IL, he was the son of John L and Connie S Whitmore Spiker. On October 7, 2017, he married Linda Liby in Stronghurst, IL. 

Alex attended Oquawka Grade School, Tri Valley Middle School in Gladstone, IL and Union High School in Biggsville, IL. Southeastern Community College.

He worked for Raiders Pre Cast Concrete, Carl A. Nelson plant services and most recently for Huffman Welding and Fabrication out of Fort Madison, IA.

Alex enjoyed working on older cars and was always tinkering around in the garage. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed riding motorcycles, boats, 4 wheelers and pretty much anything with an engine. The true loves of his life were his son and grandson. Alex loved being a father and grandfather to them.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Spiker of West Burlington; son, Zachary J Spiker of Biggsville, IL; grandson, Ashton Bentley Spiker of Biggsville; IL father, John L (Connie S Spiker) Spiker of Oquawka, IL; brother, Richard D (Wendy) Spiker of Burlington; three sisters, Jessica L (Donavan) Vanskike of Monmouth, IL, Glenda L (Todd) Anderson of Burlington; Joann L (Keith) Hurt of Oquawka, IL; five nieces, Lillian Spiker, Alexandria  Spiker, Scarlett Vanskike, Zoey Spiker, Courtenay  (Drake) Huffman; two nephews, Jaxson Alexander Vanskike and Brody Ohland; aunt, Pat (Gary) Andrews; uncle, Gerald (Gayle) Whitmore; and two cousins, Tracy (Carl) Chandler of Oquawka, IL and Cory (Katy) Whitmore of Lake Story, IL.

He was preceded in death by his mother, sister, Rhonda Spiker, aunt, Brenda Whitmore, grandparents, Vilas and Sylvia Spiker, Richard Whitmore and Eveylyn (Whitmore) Siens and his best friend, Josh Danner.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

There will be no visitation or services.

A memorial has been established for an education fund for his "Golden One" grandson, Ashton Bentley Spiker.
