Steven Polson Obituary

Steven Paul Polson, 74, of Burlington, died Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at his home in Burlington.

Born November 19, 1948, in Burlington, he was the son of Lois Darlene Polson. He married Debra Benedict on July 27, 1974 at the First Baptist Church in Burlington. She passed away October 31, 2003. Steven later married Kimberly Benish on August 23, 2013 at their home in Burlington. 

He graduated from Stronghurst High School in 1968 and later completed some skill classes at SCC. 

He was a US Navy Veteran, serving in the Coral Sea on an aircraft carrier for three tours in Vietnam from 1968 to 1972.

Steven was a Supervisor for Case Company and retired after 30 years.

He was a member of Carthage Lake Club. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating and loved his Black Lab dogs. Steven also enjoyed volunteering for girls youth softball for three years and loved spending time with his grandkids. 

Survivors include his wife, Kimberly Polson of Burlington; daughter, Jamie (Tony) Lambert of Pleasant Hill, MO; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by his mother.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

The memorial service for Mr. Polson will be 2:00 PM Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street with Reverend David J. Yonker officiating. Burial will be in Carman Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House.
