If only everyone could have the joyful memories that I have growing up with an uncle such as my uncle Arnie. During my life here on earth my heart and my mind are filled with the ornery spirit of a man who loved his life and his family. Uncle Arnie always shared his opinions and through his honesty he was always true to himself. This honesty made him the free spirit he was and still is to this day in our thoughts. I have missed you uncle Arnie and I look forward til we meet once again in Heaven as it is written. With loving fond memories. Your neice, Nanette

I can remember Uncle Arnie and Aunt Norma visiting my grandparents in Champaign very clearly as a child. It brings me a smile to think about his laugh and all the great times that he shared with the rest of the family. My thoughts and condolences go out to Aunt Norma and the rest of the family that was ever so close to Uncle Arnie.

I will always remember the visits from Arnie at my Grandparent's home in Champaign while growing up. Many fond stories were shared between Arnie and Norma and Dot and John. I know that a very special bond existed between them and that he will be missed dearly. My thoughts and condolences go out to all that were close to Arnie.

From the day I first met Arnie, every time I think of him it makes me smile. From the stories my wife (Nan) told me when she was a little girl, to the first time I ever went mushroom hunting (it was with Arnie and John) when I was 17, to Arnie chasing my kids around trying to step on their toes and hearing them giggle, to listening and laughing at his endless repetwa (spelling?) of jokes [followed by Norma?s semi-scolding ?Arrniee!!?], to his escape to the fresh air and his pipe after dinner, to his imitation of Houdini ? disappearing between 7 and 8 pm [to bed] without any warning or words, etc etc etc as I could go on. Just writing this makes me smile. I envision him right now, up in heaven, meeting up with old friends, with my Mother and Father and with Jesus Christ our lord ?? and Arnie saying ?Did you hear the one about??.? Followed by laughter?.. Until we meet again, Rest well Arnie, Rest well! Lord please comfort him, in Jesus precious name I pray. Keith Francis

I really can not think of Arnie without smiling. Most of my memories come from when I was very young, but it seems like yesterday when he was chasing me through the house trying to stomp on my toes. He certainly seemed to put family first and to care deeply for his loved ones. I know he had a very special place in my Grandparents hearts and I am sure he will truly be missed. My thoughts, prayers, and condolences are with all those missing him today.
